VILJOENSKROON – A 22-year-old suspect appeared before Viljoenskroon Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 16 August 2022, on a charge of rape.

It is alleged that the incident took place on Saturday, 13 August 2022, at Rammulotsi. The 14-year-old victim was with her friends when they went to a house in Rammolutsi and met with two other males.

It is further alleged that one of the males, who is the suspect in this case, is romantically involved with the victim. The victim and the suspect left to Mpho’s house where he allegedly raped her.

A case of rape was reported and the suspect was arrested. He appeared before Viljoenskroon Magistrate’s Court of Tuesday, 16 August 2022. The suspect is still in custody and the case has been postponed to 22 August 2022 for a formal bail application.
