Basetsana ready for Zambia Baloyi

Zambia should brace themselves for a fight of their lives when they take on South Africa in the preliminary round, second leg tie of the 2020 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier this Saturday (1 February) at Orlando Stadium.

This is according to South Africa’s National Under-20 Women’s team (Basetsana) coach, Jabulile Baloyi, who also stated that her side will stop at nothing in pushing to secure yet another win.

In their first leg meeting, Basetsana won 2-0 with Thubelihle Shamase and Chelsea Daniels scoring each goal in the first half of that match.

Baloyi stated that although she was happy with that result, she hopes that they can still show great improvement in how they played away, in this return leg tie.

The match between Basetsana and Zambia will kick-off at 15h00.

We have had a very good week of preparations and my girls are now ready for the return leg clash against Zambia, Baloyi said. Sure we won 2-0 away from home; however, this is one performance that I believe we can still improve from, going into this second leg match.

I am expecting Zambia to throw everything at us, especially in the first 15 minutes of the game; however, we will not afford them any attacking spaces.

Our main objective is to qualify for our first ever FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup tournament, and we are highly motivated in realising that dream.

Baloyi also urged all South Africans to come and show their support in this match, adding that their presence in the stadium would be highly appreciated.

Entrance is free.

I would like to urge all South Africans in Soweto (Gauteng) and other provinces to come and support us in this crucial return leg match against Zambia, Baloyi said. This will be good for us as the technical staff and the players, as we continue with our journey for fighting to secure our ticket to Costa Rica and Panama (where the 2020 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup tournament will be taking place).

Your presence will be highly appreciated. Come show your love.
