Chipolopolo Football Club ( FC ) of Keetmanshoop on Sunday were crowned winners of the 12th edition of the Tses spring sports festival in the football category . Chipolopolo won after beating 4th Street of Mariental 2 – 1 on penalties after a 1 – 1 draw in the final match . The sports festival started on Saturday and ended on Sunday in Tses , and saw 26 football teams and six netball teams competing . Football and netball teams from Mariental , Maltah ö he , Aranos , Gochas , Bethanie , Keetmanshoop , Aroab and Komsberg participated in the festival . Chipolopolo walked away with N . dollars 25 000 and a trophy , 4th street of Mariental walked away with N . dollars 14 000 as runner – up while Aroab football academy and | Gom | Gom of Maltah ö he received N . dollars 5 500 each as the semi – final losers . In the netball category 12 Brigade A of Keetmanshoop were declared the winners walking away with N . dollars 5 000 and a trophy , 12 Brigade B of Keetmanshoop pocketed N . dollars 3 500 as runner – up , while
Eleven Champion from Komsberg received N . dollars 1 500 as the third best netball team . Thomas Tsuseb , the founder of the event said : ‘ This year the football teams were less than last year , however the event was a success in terms of participation and discipline of participants and the supporters . We would like to thank all those that sponsored us this year and we look forward to next year .’ The tourney provides an opportunity for young people to showcase their talents and learn basic fundamentals skills and sports culture . The festival among others was sponsored by Sonop Farms , Old Mutual , NamDeb and member of Parliament Ricky Vries .
