COVID-19 awareness campaign conducted at Phalaborwa

POLOKWANE – The Station Commander of Phalaborwa Police Station, Colonel Rakhadani, accompanied by the Social Crime Prevention members, Sergeant Nkwinika and Sergeant Nkuna together with the Station Communication Officer, Sergeant Mongwe, conducted a Community Outreach Programme on Thursday, 23 July 2020 at Eden Square Mall in the Phalaborwa CBD.
During the campaign, members interacted with shop managers of different businesses as well as the security personnel within the malls and community members using a loudhailer.
Community members were encouraged to adhere to all the level 3 lockdown regulations as part of the Disaster Management Act which include compulsory wearing of face masks, sanitizing, practicing of social distancing and the restrictions of movements between 21H00 and 04H00.
The outreach was part of strengthening relations with the business community and private security companies including members of the community in general in the fight against crime and in a way of putting more efforts to curb the spread of Corona virus.
