Covid-19 awareness campaign to flatten the curve held in Mdantsane

EASTERN CAPE – Following the address of the nation by the Honorable RSA President, Cyril Ramaphosa on Covid-19 and Disaster Management Regulations last night, the following Government departments embarked on an awareness campaign in a form of loud hailing today.
The SAPS joined forces with other Government departments, like Government Communications and Information System (GCIS), Disaster Management, SAPS, Health, BCMM Traffics, BCMM Public Participation, BCMM Environmental Health to continue reminding members of the community to assist in flattening the curve of Covid-19 in the areas known as the hotspots around Mdanstane.
These areas include but not limited, Mdantsane Highway Business centre, Taxi rank, Kuyasa Shopping centre, Taxi rank, Mdantsane City Mall, Taxi rank, NU 1, 2, 3 enroute to NU17, Mdantsane.
Shoppers, commuters, pupils and patrons were reminded about the importance of social distancing.
The compliance to the new Covid-19 level 1 lockdown regulations, with amendments and updated information in order to cater for a functional society and economy of the country as per the Government Gazette commences next week, Monday, 21 September 2020 is vital.
Members of the community were encouraged to wear masks at all times especially when they are in public, exercise social and physical distance, washing of hands regularly with soap and running water for about twenty seconds, sanitising their hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
The second wave is coming soon, therefore it is important to adhere to these precautionary measures and curb the spread of the Covid19 virus in our society.
