First Lady Visits Nsanda's Residence

First Lady Esther Lungu yesterday visited the late Patriotic Front top cadre Willie Nsanda’s residence in Lusaka’s Mass Media where she offered comfort to the family.

Madam Lungu was accompanied by senior government officials.

The body o Nsanda, widely respected in the ruling party as a stalwart, will be transported back to Zambia on Sunday.

PF secretary-general Davies Chama announced that Nsanda’s remains will be flown to Ndola before being transported to Kitwe, where mourners are expected to gather at the deceased’s house in Garneton. Nsanda died died on Tuesday in South Africa.

“The body departs Johannesburg on South African Airways flight SA096 at 10:40 hours and is expected to arrive at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola at 12:20 hours,” Chama said.

The remains will be accompanied by Nsanda’s father, PF member of the central committee Samuel Mukupa and other family members who are already in South Africa.

Chama said the Zambian High Commission in South Africa has organised a requiem mass for Nsanda, which will be held tomorrow at 13:00 hours at Thom Kight building in Johannesburg.

He advised mourners not to travel to Lusaka as the body will be transported directly to the Copperbelt.
