Pretoria: Effective collaboration between the police and community members led to the arrest of four suspects in separate incidents involving the possession of livestock or produce suspected to be stolen in the Pixley Ka Seme District on Saturday, 04 October 2025.

According to South African Police Service, in the first incident, police in Victoria-West received information about meat suspected to be stolen and stored at a local residence. Members swiftly followed up on the information and located the identified premises. Upon arrival, members discovered a slaughtered sheep inside the house. The 40-year-old female found on the property failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for being in possession of the meat. She was subsequently arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock or produce.

In an unrelated incident in Philipstown, SAPS members acted on intelligence regarding possible stock theft at another residence. A 70-year-old male and female, along with a 35-year-old male, were found in posse
ssion of meat but were unable to give a reasonable account of its origin. All three were arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock or produce.

All suspects will appear before their respective courts soon. The police management in Pixley Ka Seme District commended the community for their commitment and cooperation in the fight against crime and applauded the swift action of SAPS members, which led to the arrests and recovery of suspected stolen livestock.
