GQEBERHA – Police in Swartkops have arrested a 29-year-old female for the alleged murder of her 38 year-old boyfriend, following an argument.

It is alleged that the couple had an argument at 01:30 this morning, Saturday, 27 August 2022 at a residence in Debe Street, Wells Estate. It is further alleged that the girlfriend took a knife and stabbed the man in his neck. The 38-year-old man passed away on the scene and the female suspect was arrested outside the residence.

The motive for the murder is yet to be established and police investigations are continuing.

The name of the victim will be released once his next-of-kin has been informed.

The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Motherwell magistrate’s court on Monday, 29 August 2022 on a charge of murder.
