New Jersey on Tuesday reported another 2,352 COVID-19 cases and 42 confirmed deaths as hospitalizations surge to more than 1,000 patients after the Thanksgiving holiday and the number of in-school outbreaks among students and staff this academic year increased by 23 last week. The state’s seven-day average for new positive tests increased to 1,939, up approximately 10% from a week ago and up 68% from a month ago. That’s the highest average since Sept. 14.
