One busted for business burglary

THABA NCHU – A 35-year-old male suspect is in police custody following his arrest for alleged business burglary at Thaba Nchu.

Police were summoned to a crime scene at a local chain clothing store in Thaba Nchu on Monday, 10 January 2022 at about 06:00. Upon preliminary investigation police discovered that an entry was gained through the roof.

A case of business burglary was opened as undisclosed amount of cash and 25 cellphones valued at about R 35 000-00 were stolen.

Police continued with the investigation and managed to trace one suspect in Section G, Botshabelo. Police managed to recover six cellphones to the value of R 10 400-00.

Investigations are still underway and police expect to arrest more suspects.

The apprehended suspect will appear before Thaba Nchu Magistrates’ Court soon.

Store owners or managers are requested to activate police immediately when an alarm goes off at their respective business premises.
