Police committed to eradicate the streets of unlicensed firearms and ammunition

The endurance of police members to eradicate the streets of unlicensed firearms and ammunition resulted in the arrest of a suspect.

Delft police members were busy with stop and search operations in the early hours of Monday 13 September 2021, when they found an unknown man roaming the street next to the corners of Symphony Way and Silversands Road in Delft. Upon searching the individual, he was found in possession of a 9 mm Taurus pistol with ammunition. The 33-year-old man was arrested and detained as he could not provide a valid licence to be in possession of the firearm.

Once charged he is expected to make a court appearance in the Bellville Magistrate court on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition
