WELKOM – Police are looking for five armed suspects after a filling station was robbed of cash and a police Constable was shot.
On 24 November 2022 at about 07:00, three suspects entered a filling station in Stateway, Welkom, while other two remained inside a white Polo vehicle with Free State registration numbers.
A police Constable from Public Order Policing, driving a marked police vehicle arrived to fill up petrol while the robbery was in progress. He was shot in the right shoulder and was robbed of his service pistol. The five suspects thereafter fled the scene.
