Police seek identity of sixth murdered victim

GQEBERHA – Detectives from the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation in Gqeberha is seeking the communities’ assistance in tracing the next of kin of the 6th murdered victim found in a house in New Brighton during the early hours of 05 November 2022.

It is alleged that between 01:00 and 02:00 neighbours heard gunshots and at about 06:45 when they went to check on their neighbour’s house in Ramba Street, they found the door open. On further investigation, the bodies of four people (1 female and 3 males) were found lying in the lounge. Another female was found in the kitchen and one in the bedroom.

Five victims were identified however the 6th victim, a male, is still unknown. The unidentified male is between 23-45 years old.

No suspects have yet been arrested and the motive for the shootings are under investigation.

Police are appealing to the community to assist them in identifying the deceased male or to trace his next of kin. Also if anyone knows of a person that is missing since 5 November 2022 to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant John Lepan on 076 865 7214 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
