SAPS Bethelsdorp seek next of kin

GQEBERHA – SAPS Bethelsdorp detectives are seeking the communities’ assistance in tracing the next of kin, after a body of an unknown man was found at Van Der Kempskloof, Bethelsdorp on Saturday, 7 January 2023.

It is alleged that at approximately 13:50, members of the community were at Van Der Kemps Kloof, when they noticed the body of a man in the water and alerted the SAPS. The body was recovered by the SAPS diving unit. At this stage the cause of death is unknown and the alleged drowning will only be confirmed after a post mortem. The man is approximately in his thirties and was dressed in a black jersey. No signs of visible injuries, however he had a head wound, but it is clear he was treated in a hospital.

An Inquest was opened and is under investigation.
