Pretoria: SAPS Despatch detectives have initiated a culpable homicide case following a fatal head-on collision that resulted in the deaths of two individuals on the evening of Friday, 25 April 2025, on the R75.

According to South African Police Service, the accident occurred at approximately 23:20 when a grey Hyundai and a silver Suzuki collided head-on at the R75 intersection near Bayland. The drivers involved in the accident were a 62-year-old operating the Hyundai and a 52-year-old driving the Suzuki. Tragically, both drivers succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash.

Authorities have stated that the names of the deceased will be released after formal identification and notification of their next of kin. The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
