SAPS National Commissioner to Address Investigation on Missing Constables


Bloemfontein: The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), General Fannie Masemola, will convene with the Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lieutenant General Shadrack Sibiya, to engage with the investigating team handling the case of three missing police officers. This meeting is scheduled for Sunday, 27 April 2025.



According to South African Police Service, the meeting will include an update on the progress of the investigation, provided by the Provincial Commissioners of Free State and Gauteng, Lieutenant General Baile Motsweenyane and Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni. The session aims to assess developments in locating the missing officers.



Following the meeting with the investigating team, General Masemola and his delegation will meet with the families of the three missing constables. This will be followed by a media briefing to share details of the investigation’s current status.



The meeting and media briefing will be held at the Park Road police station in Bloemfontein, with the meeting scheduled for 13:00 and the media briefing at 14:30.
