Efforts to eradicate the illegal drug trade in the Western Cape between Kensington detectives and Western Cape Flying Squad landed a suspect behind bars when he was arrested in Athlone for dealing in heroin. The Kensington branch commander received information about the drugs that will be transported in a vehicle to another area. A track and trace operation was conducted and the suspect was arrested with 1.2 kilogram heroin with an estimated street value of R360 000.

The suspect will make a court appearance on Monday 4 October in Athlone.
