Suspects arrested for selling drugs to learners to appear in court

POLOKWANE – The two suspects who were arrested on Thursday, 16 February 2023 for selling drugs to school learners at Florah Park Dam are expected to appear in Polokwane magistrate court tomorrow on Monday 20 February 2023.

Members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit in collaboration with Crime Intelligence, received information about a 41-year-old suspect who was allegedly selling drugs to learners of Northern Academy Secondary and Florah Park Secondary schools which are adjacent to Florah Park Dam.

The information was immediately operationalized and a sting operation conducted at the said Dam.

The suspect was subsequently found sitting in a white Nissan Almera sedan. Police requested to search his motor vehicle and found 500 balls of Heroine with an estimated street value of R20.000 concealed inside the dashboard.

The operation continued and his accomplice. aged 44, was nabbed along the N1 north next to Botlokwa just after he allegedly received the Heroine drugs from the first suspect at Flora Park dam meant for further distribution.

The two suspects will appear before the Polokwane and Botlokwa Magistrate’s court on Monday 20 February 2023 facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.

Police investigations are continuing.
