EKURHULENI DISTRICT – Constables Ngwenya and Mbonani were patrolling at R29 Road Devon when they noticed a grey Polo with five occupants. The members ordered the driver of the vehicle to pull over and requested permission to search the vehicle. While conducting a search of the vehicle, a male attempted to run away however, swift action by members led to his apprehension. Members recovered a bag containing suspected drugs.

A 26-year-old suspect was found in possession of 462 sachets of suspected drugs with a street value of R16, 170.00 and the suspect was arrested and detained at Devon SAPS.

In a separate incident, the members attended to a complaint at Ext 3. While interviewing the complainant, members were informed that both the ex-boyfriend and the ex-girlfriend are in possession of dagga. Members asked permission to search the premises that has led to the recovery of dagga with a street value of R4000. Both suspects, a woman aged 29 and a man, aged 35 were arrested.

All the arrested suspects will be appearing at Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon.

The Station Commander applauded the members for their vigilance that has led to the successes.
