Suspects due in court for the possession of drugs and an unlicensed firearm

WESTERN CAPE – Efforts to rid our communities of the illegal drug trade led to the arrest of a 22-year-old male last night in Kilimanjaro Road, Tafelsig, Mitchell’s Plain. The members of Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit were busy with patrols when they noticed a white Opel Corsa light delivery vehicle driving reckless in the road. The vehicle was stopped and searched and 200 mandrax tablets were found in the vehicle.

Furthermore Mitchell’s Plain police arrested a 51-year-old male for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition last night at about 20:46 in Tafelberg Street, Tafelsig, Mitchell’s Plain. The members responded to a complaint of a shooting incident when the suspect was arrested with a CZ 75 pistol and ammunition.

The suspects are due to make their court appearances in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates court on Tuesday respectively.
