Three suspects aged between 29 and 49 were arrested yesterday and early this morning by the DPCI National Task team, assisted by SAPS Special Task Force, Anti Gang unit, Vehicle Safeguarding unit and Crime Scene Management in the execution of six warrants of arrests in Western Cape. Inside the Mercedes with two occupants that was stopped, two unlicensed firearms were recovered. In the second vehicle, a Toyota hilux with two occupants, an unlicensed firearm was recovered.

Two suspects handed themselves over this morning and will also face the same charges.

The three will appear on Monday in the Cape Town Magistrates court on charges of cospiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, extortion and kidnapping.

The names of the suspects and further details will only be released once they appear in court.
