Two accused heavily sentenced for robbing a minor

MAKWANE – The Phuthaditjhaba Regional Court and Makwane Detective Service successfully secured a sentence of 18 years direct imprisonment for two accused men of Lusaka section in Makwane Village Qwaqwa for robbery under aggravating circumstances.

The two accused, Lekgotla Sitole (30) and Malefetsane Tshabalala (27) were each sentenced to 18 years direct imprisonment for robbing a 14-year-old minor in January 2021. The two met the complainant in the street, threatened her with knives, and robbed her off a pair of tekkies, cellphone and necklace. They were arrested after four days.

On Tuesday, 16 August 2022 the two accused were found guilty and sentenced to 18 years direct imprisonment each.
