Two female officers secures sentence

GAUTENG – As women’s month draws to a close, Sergeant Minky Letadi and Constable Amanda Mahlangu together with their counterparts ensured that Johannes Mabethwa was handed down a life sentence after he was charged with Pre-meditated murder that took place last year November.

The sentence was handed down at high Court following a meticulous investigation that left no stone unturned to seek all the evidence that would seek for the highest conviction. The convicted Johannes Mabethwa (62) was arrested after intense investigation of his then girlfriend that was discovered strangled and dumped at Schuverberg and Church Street.

The Station Commander, Brigadier Mbangwa Nkhwashu expressed his excitement at the goodwork conducted under the leadership of Colonel Phillimon Siwela, the Branch Commander. He further stated that criminals will no longer be roaming freely in Atteridgeville as the Police are squeezing crime out of Atteridgeville.

In an unrelated case, Sergeant Mafana and his team also secured a heavy sentence following thorough investigation of a murder that took place in the informal settlement last year December.

The deceased was stabbed twenty two (22) times and killed.

Shadrack Junior Ngobeni (28) was handed down a 15 year sentence.

Station Commander, Brigadier Mbangwa Nkhwashu said that the momentum continues to ensure that criminals feel uncomfortable in their criminal activities. Brigadier Nkhwashu also mentioned that the members are increasing the tempo in ensuring that criminals are kept behind bars where they belong. E
