EASTERN CAPE – Makalo Bartholomy Hadebe (47) from Motsekula Location appeared in Matatiele Magistrates\u2019 Court on Thursday, 09 June 2022 for allegations of dealing in commercial explosives.<\/P>
<\/P>
This emanates from his arrest by the East London based Hawks\u2019 Serious Organised Crime Investigation team, K9 unit, Crime Intelligence and Public order Policing on 08 June 2022.<\/P>
<\/P>
The arrest emanates from an intelligence driven operation where two successful test purchases of the explosives were done. The seized explosives are believed to be used in Automated Teller Machines (ATM) bombings and cash-In-transit (CIT) robberies. Hadebe\u2019s case was postponed to 14 June2022 for a bail application.<\/P>
<\/P>
The Provincial Head Major General Mboiki Obed Ngwenya lauded the team for their hard work aimed at eradicating the scourge of CIT and ATM robberies.<\/P>
