EC Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane to handover R900 thousands worth of equipment to a women headed farming venture in Ugie through government\u2019s Isiqalo Youth Fund <\/P>
As Women\u2019s Month 2022 draws to a close, Eastern Cape Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane will, on Friday the 26th of August 2022, handover R900 thousand worth of agricultural equipment to a women headed farming venture in Ugie in the Joe Gqabi District Municipality.<\/P>
<\/P>
The funding to Mnyolo Heights Farm, a 100% black female youth-owned vegetable and livestock production business has been made possible through the Provincial Government\u2019s Isiqalo Youth Fund.<\/P>
<\/P>
The Premier will handover agricultural equipment including a tractor; fertilizer spreader; ripper and various other equipment \u2013 giving a much needed boost to the 165-hector farm, which has created employment for 30 young people from Ugie and supplies its produce to several retail shops including SPAR. <\/P>
<\/P>
Isiqalo Youth Fund seeks to create a conducive environment for young entrepreneurs through provision of financial and non-financial support, to enable them to be active participants in the stimulation of the economy of the province.<\/P>
<\/P>
The programme was founded in 2019, located in the provincial department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEAT), but was moved to the Office of the Premier in 2021.<\/P>
