Youth Day celebration at Tswelopele Correctional Centre in Kimberley

NORTHERN CAPE – The Tswelopele Correctional Centre in Kimberley held their Youth Day Celebrations and had speakers from SAPS, Department of Safety and Liaison and Grassroots.

Approximately 200 inmates between the ages of 18 and 24 were in attendance while the Acting Head of the Correctional Centre, Mr Patrick Mxinzeleli welcomed everyone and gave a brief background about the June 16 youth day celebrations.

Lt Col Sergio Kock delivered message of support to motivate the youth to keep chasing their dreams and pursue new and positive headlines. The young ones were encouraged to utilize their gifts and talents while highlighting the life, prison persecutions and victories of Joseph in the Bible.

The real highlight was the #MM Kofifi dancers with their rendition of the Special Star song of Mango Groove and K11 Choir with their beautiful voices that truly entertained the crowd.

The Youth Day event was commemorated under the theme “promoting sustainable livelihood and resilience of young people for a better tomorrow”.
